Following a peacebuilding campaign led by Kismayu Women Association,

the Madina and Midnimo groups have resolved their conflict and gathered to celebrate their unity. At this occasion, the Member of Jubaland Parliament, Mrs. Foos Ali, has stressed the importance of women and their inclusion:

“The role of women in peacebuilding and in the entire community has improved, including in the government and other institutions. Women are the frontline in politics, economy and community development. Our membership in parliament shows inclusivity and women empowerment.”
